Job Description Job Description Overview The Wheel and Tire Division installs and maintains the Joint Venture (JV) equipment for our partner company. The Tire and Wheel Senior Manager is a significant role which must provide experienced leadership in Engineering and Maintenance for our Tire and Wheel Division. The Senior Manager oversees the development and execution of technical initiatives for the division. This Individual oversees all aspects of technology including process engineering, maintenance, equipment reliability, automation, controls and project management. Additionally, this role will be responsible for recommending and implementing improvements to our engineering and maintenance practices to ensure maximum operational efficiency. Essential Functions: Positively support business plan goals; develop and monitor tasks to ensure goals are achieved Perform the following functions as well as mentor, coach and lead reports in the following functions: Lead/mentor/coach/train new Associates through proper safety techniques and Ensure compliance with laws and regulations Exhibit safety awareness and competence with attention to detail Tour assigned departments on a scheduled basis Communicate and serve as a role model for policies and procedures enforcement Assist in the interviewing and selection process for potential new hires and position postings Conduct training for management on new initiatives Support and serve as a role model for MEI's KPI's of Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Environment Demonstrate and serve as a role model for Respect for the Individual at all times Maintain professional and consistent Open Communication with all levels of the organization, communicating with diverse groups of people and ensuring understanding Demonstrate and serve as a role model for a Challenging Spirit and Innovation by continuous improvement in daily processes using PDCA cycles Demonstrate and serve as a role model for Timely, Informed Decision Making by utilizing genba practices and efficiently gathering information to make decisions that protect the organization and ensure fair treatment of Associates Solve problems and resolve issues/concerns in a timely manner. Apply preventative measures Maintain a customer service focus, ensuring and protecting our customer's best interest Other Duties as assigned by Leadership Maintain workforce stability through know how skill assessments and training Manage and evaluate direct report Performance Management Process Develop department mid-term strategy/quarterly reporting Develop JV/Sub Assembly automation and innovation studies Develop/consolidate monthly JV Business Plan presentations Verify equipment requirements for JV and Sub Assembly New Model Metric tracking and analysis (uptime, Cost, Rejects, etc.) Maintain assigned division budget Complete and approve direct reports timesheets/vacation request Approve layout for equipment Project manager for E-Flow process Plan capital equipment including 3 year strategy Own and lead Capital Projects from theme to project completion Maintain project schedules for New Model Equipment Identify New Technologies and plan accordingly Follow MEI Capital investment policies and procedures for all JV capital projects (complete required E-Flow presentations) Identify chronic issues and work with region to correct Maintain good communications with OEM's and Contractors Investigate cost down opportunities Maintain target maintenance cost/assembly aligned The duties and responsibilities described are not a comprehensive list and that additional tasks may be assigned to the employee from time to time; or the scope of the job may change as necessitated by business demands. Bachelor's Degree (Industrial, Electrical, mechanical) with 5+ years experience in an industrial Engineering, Maintenance leadership role or 10+ years experience in an industrial Engineering, Maintenance leadership role without a degree. Proficient with Microsoft Office and Creating Effective Presentations to Justify Capital Projects / Large Expenses. Familiar with Robot Programming (Fanuc / Yaskawa); familiar with CMMS Systems: Experience in AutoCAD/Solid Works Familiar with PLC programming (Allen Bradley or Mitsubishi preferred) familiar with Vision Systems (Cognex and or Keyence preferred), familiar with material handling equipment- conveyor, pneumatics hydraulics, 24 VDC control circuits 480 VAC Motors Excellent communication & presentation skills - both written and verbal Excellent interpersonal, analytical, strategic and organization skills Experience in the following: Kaizen, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, etc Leverage technology and know-how to create efficiencies and streamline focus on quality, service and safety Proven experience leading and motivating teams Able to interact professionally within the company and with the customer.
